Former Tauck National Sales Manager Tom Dumbrell has taken up a new role at The Leading Trains, a global collection of iconic luxury rail operators.
The Leading Trains was founded earlier this year by Italian ultra-luxury hospitality and rail company Arsenale Group, comprising of seven rail companies from around the world, including La Dolce Vita Orient Express, which launched in Italy in April 2025.
The collection also includes Golden Eagle Luxury Trains, which runs from Eastern Europe to Asia, and SJourney, a Vietnamese rail company, and several that have yet to launch.
Tom, who was previously with Tauck for more than three years, has been appointed Director of Sales, UK & Europe.
He told Indulge: “This is an exciting new role and venture that I am delighted to be part of. Luxury rail journeys or ‘train cruising’ is such an important and thriving sector, with guests increasingly seeking rich, slow-travel experiences that unveil every facet of a destination while drawing them away from their normal life and routine.
“I am here to support travel professionals in selling our growing collection. My aim is to be present for those seeking to book our unforgettable journeys either in isolation or when including them as part of a longer itinerary. I will also be focused on providing greater education around the luxury rail experience and how our trains can be used for unique group travel and charter opportunities, be that for private parties, corporate travel, incentives or events.
“Rail travel is something that I have always been deeply passionate about, but the ability to combine an ever-changing postcard view with world-class hospitality is something that has very broad appeal, and significant opportunities for prospective partners, most notably those with luxury cruise and touring clients.”
Prior to joining Tauck, Tom was UK Sales Director at Swan Hellenic, and he has also worked for Belmond, APT and Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines.
