The Elysium Collection has launched today as a new UK hotel, spa and health club brand targeting the staycation and wellness travel market.
The group will open properties across Cornwall, Surrey and the Lake District from autumn 2026 throughout 2027, with Elysium St Mawes confirmed as its first site. The 56-bedroom hotel (pictured below) is being developed from the former Ship and Castle Hotel on Cornwall’s harbourfront, in partnership with architects 3DReid, the studio behind Gleneagles.
The brand focuses on restored heritage buildings, informal luxury and wellness-led stays.
Guest services will include destination guides and practical outdoor services such as equipment care for walking and coastal activities.
Dining will be led by Executive Chef Stéphane Delourme, formerly Head Chef at Rick Stein’s The Seafood Restaurant. Menus will be seasonal with an emphasis on local suppliers.
Wellness will be central to the offer, with each site featuring a spa concept tailored to its location. Elysium St Mawes will open with TEMPLESPA as spa partner, with additional spa partnerships planned for future properties.
Elysium CEO James Houlston said: “When developing The Elysium Collection, we wanted to reflect how people travel today.
“Guests are more time-conscious than ever, and they’re seeking value not just for their money, but for their time.
“That became our guiding principle, to deeply understand our guests, ensuring that from the moment they arrive, everything has been thoughtfully curated, allowing them to immediately switch off, settle in, and feel they are exactly where they want to be.”
Further details on hotel names and additional sites will be released ahead of opening.
