Swan Hellenic thanks agents for contributing to record-breaking July

Cultural expedition cruise company Swan Hellenic has announced its strongest operational month on record.

July revenue surged 170% year-on-year, powered by demand for polar expeditions and ‘intensifying guest loyalty’, and August figures show the trend is continuing, the operator said.

Swan Hellenic’s core polar portfolio drove two-thirds of the total growth, with Arctic revenue tripling year-on-year.

Its new Asia-Pacific itineraries achieved a 373% year-on-year growth, and its latest Africa itineraries also performed well, with growth already at 98%.

Swan Hellenic’s share of repeat guests has more than doubled in the past two years, with many taking three or more expeditions so far.

Looking ahead, the company’s upcoming Antarctica season is pacing 32% ahead of last year’s performance.

Chief Commercial Officer Mario Bounas said: “Our team is very proud of these exceptional results. They’re a ringing endorsement of the outstanding discovery experiences Swan Hellenic provides.

“From our high-end ships to the gourmet cuisine, service and off-the-beaten path itineraries and expeditions our dedicated staff, expedition teams and onboard experts deliver.

“At the same time, we wouldn’t be where we are today without the support of our wonderfully enthusiastic and insightful trade partners. We’d like to thank them all.”
