South Africa game reserve joins Kerzner’s Rare Finds collection

Kerzner International will take over the management of the hospitality division of Shamwari Private Game Reserve in South Africa from 1 April.

The reserve, which has seven lodges, will become part of Kerzner’s Rare Finds portfolio of properties, which Kerzner says strengthens the company’s commitment to offer ‘distinctive, conservation-led destinations across Africa’.

Shamwari Air, the reserve’s private air service, which offers direct flights from Cape Town and Johannesburg, will be integrated into the Group’s commercial platform.

Shamwari Private Game Reserve’s Chief Executive Joe Cloete has been with the property for 34 years and will continue to lead the team.

He said: “We at Shamwari Private Game Reserve are thrilled to be included in the Rare Finds portfolio of Kerzner International. This endorses our continuous commitment to adding value to our guest experience as we grow the Shamwari brand in the international market.”

Kerzner International Chief Executive Officer Philippe Zuber added: “South Africa is where the Kerzner story began, and it remains the heartbeat of our DNA. The addition of Shamwari Private Game Reserve to our Rare Finds collection marks a significant milestone as we deepen our commitment to this extraordinary destination.”

Other African properties in the Kerzner group include One&Only Cape Town, One&Only Nyungwe House, One&Only Le Saint Géran, and Mazagan Beach and Golf Resort.
