SeaDream’s new Trade Sales Director pledges to help agents sell ‘with confidence’

SeaDream Yacht Club has appointed James Scott as Trade Sales Director for the UK and Ireland, with a focus on expanding the company’s trade network and educating agents on the luxury yacht sector.

James joins from Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, where he was Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland. His luxury cruise background included roles at Seabourn, Oceania Cruises and Cunard.

James said his priority is to equip agents with the tools to sell SeaDream Yacht Club to the right clients through regular training, face-to-face visits, events and fam trips.

He said: “My focus primarily will be giving our partners the confidence, knowledge and tools to position SeaDream Yacht Club as an unforgettable yacht experience, helping partners recognise the type of client and how to present the product in a way that epitomises our mantra, ‘It’s Yachting, Not Cruising’.

“Most importantly, we want to be easy to do business with, and we will empower our partners to promote SeaDream Yacht Club with knowledge, confidence, and ease.”

James highlighted that the luxury sector offers higher revenues per booking with strong repeat business.

He explained: “Guests in this space are typically less price-sensitive and more focused on experience, service and exclusivity. It also reflects a growing demand for more intimate, personalised travel, where smaller ships and yacht-style experiences offer privacy, flexibility and access to ports that larger ships cannot reach.

“From an agent perspective, it strengthens guest relationships because the experience tends to exceed expectations, leading to repeat bookings and referrals. As the luxury travel market continues to grow globally, yacht and small ship cruising sits in a particularly strong position because it combines comfort, exploration and exclusivity in a way that few other holiday types can match.”
