Not Just Travel launches luxury training programme

Not Just Travel has launched a three-tier luxury training programme designed to help its 800-plus travel consultants sell more premium travel.

The new ‘Luxury Pathway’ was unveiled at the homeworker’s annual Summer Celebration event last weekend.

Not Just Travel said the strategy reflects growing demand for higher-value holidays, with travellers increasingly upgrading to premium hotels and personalised experiences within mainstream trips.

The programme is designed to build agents’ skills across three areas: everyday luxury upgrades, premium five and six-star travel, and ultra-luxury experiences.

The first level, available to all consultants, focuses on identifying opportunities to add luxury elements to bookings and includes new training assets and ‘The Luxury Standard’ podcast.

The second level, the application-only Elevation Programme, will support a smaller group of consultants each quarter looking to specialise in luxury and ultra-luxury travel.

The top tier, Signature by NJT, will focus on ultra-luxury itineraries and provide selected consultants with access to specialist luxury events.

The company said the approach follows the success of its Cruise Division, which launched in 2022. Not Just Travel said it tripled cruise sales across its network after focusing on agent development and product training.

Co-founder Steve Witt said: “Our Cruise Division proved what happens when you give consultants high-level training, immerse them in the product and put them in front of the right suppliers. Sales tripled because of our focus on consultant development and trade opportunities, empowering them to become confident specialists. We will do exactly the same with luxury.

“Customers are spending more on quality. We see it through partners such as Beachcomber, whose premium Mauritius resorts have become a key part of our training calendar. Sales through Beachcomber have grown fourfold since becoming a Key Trade Partner, giving consultants the confidence to sell high-end resort stays.

“Our consultants are ready to yet again elevate their businesses to service client needs, whether it’s a couple upgrading to a five-star stay in Bali or a client wanting a private jet itinerary across three continents.”
