Mövenpick El Gouna will undergo an extensive phased renovation programme from 2027 to transform it into a flagship resort under the Sofitel brand.
Sofitel El Gouna Resort will benefit from a beachfront peninsula setting, offering both sea and lagoon access.
It will have 420 ‘reimagined’ rooms and suites, a diverse range of dining combining international and local cuisine, leisure and fitness facilities and a spa.
In addition, the Egypt hotel will include dedicated meeting and event spaces
“This project reflects our long-term vision to uphold El Gouna’s position as a world-class destination,” said Dr Ali Dayekh, President and CEO of Arabian Peninsula Hospitality, which has partnered with Orascom Development Egypt on the project.
Sofitel CEO Maud Bailly said ‘Egypt has always held a special place in Sofitel’s story’, adding: “El Gouna embodies a rare balance of nature, community and international lifestyle, making it an ideal setting for Sofitel.
“This project reflects our shared ambition with our partners to create a landmark resort that celebrates both local identity and French elegance.”
