Tauck has announced it will bring Harmonie, a sister ship to Lumière, to the Rhône in 2028.
Pricing and final itineraries won’t be confirmed till this autumn, but guests who reserve cabins now have the option to cancel with a full refund of their deposit once they’re announced.
The cruise line said it had opted to double capacity on the Rhône after seeing a 30% year-on-year increase in demand.
Harmonie forms part of a wider investment that will significantly expand Tauck’s river cruising capacity while introducing a new generation of ships across Europe.
Tauck said the new ship has been shaped in part by feedback from Tauck’s river cruising guests and will carry forward many of the design details on Lumière, sharing the same deck plan and signature spaces.
“River cruising continues to be one of the most popular ways guests first experience Tauck, and the feedback our river guests have shared over the years shapes every ship we build,” said CEO Jennifer Tombaugh.
Harmonie will carry 130 guests, which is up to 30% fewer than comparably sized riverboats, said Tauck.
On the sundeck there’s a swimming pool, serviced bar, and shaded day beds.
The upper Diamond Deck will introduce an expanded wellness area known as The Retreat. The space will include a fitness centre, massage treatment room and lounge, all framed by floor-to-ceiling windows.
Harmonie will follow the arrival of Reverie and Saudade in 2027.
