Leonardo Hotels launches NYX brand in Scotland

NYX Hotels, the lifestyle brand of Leonardo Hotels, has expanded into Scotland with a 125-room property in Edinburgh.

NYX Hotel Edinburgh is on Jeffrey Street, close to the Royal Mile and Waverley Station. It has been created following a £60 million expansion of the existing Leonardo Royal Hotel site.

It is the latest addition to the brand’s growing portfolio, which already has properties in London, Dublin, Berlin and Ibiza.

NYX Hotel Edinburgh has 125 rooms and suites, with some overlooking Edinburgh’s Old Town. Facilities include the Clash Bar & Restaurant, serving an all-day menu and signature cocktails, with weekly DJ sessions showcasing local artists planned throughout the year.

Hotel Manager Simone Villari said: “Edinburgh has always thrived on art, music and culture. With NYX Hotel Edinburgh, our ambition is to capture that spirit and create a hotel that feels bold, vibrant, and uniquely Scottish.

“With the Edinburgh Fringe Festival just around the corner, this is a particularly exciting time to open. The city comes alive with creativity, culture and an electric atmosphere, attracting performers, artists and visitors from around the world. That energy is at the heart of the NYX brand, and we’re excited to become part of the experience and welcome guests looking to immerse themselves in everything Edinburgh has to offer.”

Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland Managing Director Jason Carruthers said: “The opening of NYX Hotel Edinburgh marks an important milestone for us as our fifth hotel in the city and our first NYX Hotel in Scotland.

“This has been a complex and ambitious project, transforming and expanding an existing site to create something truly special in one of the world’s most exciting cities.”

The Edinburgh opening also coincides with the launch of a refreshed brand identity for NYX Hotels across its UK and Ireland portfolio.
