The Dominican Republic Tourist Board is stepping up its focus on the luxury market with a new programme of agent training to showcase its expanding portfolio of high-end resorts.
The first Dominican Republic Luxury Webinar takes place on 15 September at 2pm (UK time), bringing together representatives from three of the destination’s newest luxury properties to give agents first-hand insight into their offering.
The session will feature W Punta Cana Adult All-Inclusive, the first all-inclusive property from W Hotels; Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana, the newest and largest addition to the Palace Resorts portfolio; and Zemi Miches All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton (pictured), a five-star beachfront resort in the emerging destination of Miches.
The tourist board’s UK & Ireland Director Sabrina Cambiaso said: “We want to give agents and advisors the tools and confidence to sell to the affluent market.
“As beach escapes and relaxation continue to be the driving force behind bookings to the Dominican Republic, this webinar is a chance for agents to hear directly from some of our finest luxury properties and better match their clients to the right beachfront retreat.”
The destination’s premium offering has expanded significantly in recent years, including the opening of The St Regis Cap Cana Resort in May 2025, followed by a series of high-end launches across Punta Cana, Cap Cana and the emerging Miches region.
The St. Regis Cap Cana features 200 guestrooms and suites, private residences and direct access to the Caribbean coastline.
Miches, meanwhile, is emerging as one of the Dominican Republic’s most talked-about new luxury destinations, with relatively low-density development helping to create a more secluded, barefoot-luxury proposition.
The area is home to Zemi Miches, which has 500 rooms, suites and beachfront bungalows overlooking Playa Esmeralda, with a focus on wellness and gastronomy.
Further luxury developments are on the horizon. Banyan Group is due to bring Angsana Cap Cana and Cassia Punta Cana to the destination in 2027, while Rosewood Punta Cana is scheduled to open in 2029 and will feature the Dominican Republic’s first collection of overwater villas.
Agents can register here for the luxury webinar. Attendees will get a chance to win a voucher for a three-night stay at W Punta Cana.
