Culloden Estate & Spa completes major refurbishment as it marks 150 years

Belfast’s Culloden Estate & Spa has completed a £620,000 refurbishment programme as it celebrates its 150th anniversary, with upgrades spanning guestrooms, private dining and spa facilities.

The five-star hotel said the investment has enhanced the luxury guest experience across the property, which sits within 12 acres overlooking Belfast Lough and the Antrim coastline.

The hotel, set in a 19th-century mansion, is marking its anniversary with the launch of a new Retreat & Restore package, available from June to November.

The one-night experience includes an overnight stay, a 150-minute ESPA treatment with full body massage and personalised facial, access to the spa and thermal suite, a complimentary glass of bubbly and full Irish breakfast.

The package is priced from £710 for two adults, is available now and must be booked a minimum of 15 days in advance.

The refurbishments include a £500,000 bedroom upgrade covering the Garden Rooms and Deluxe King guestrooms (pictured above), featuring refreshed soft furnishings, new furniture and redesigned décor, alongside updated bathrooms with marble-effect finishes and walk-in rainfall showers.

The Ailsa Suite (pictured below) has also been refurbished following a £40,000 investment, with design details inspired by the property’s 1876 heritage.

The space now features William Morris wallpaper and a bespoke marble boardroom table, creating a private dining room suitable for meetings and events with views across the estate and lough.

The spa (pictured below) has undergone £80,000 of enhancements, including new marble flooring in the reception and retail area, upgraded soft furnishings, a new seating area and improved gym equipment.

General Manager Cormac Fadden said: “As we celebrate 150 years of Culloden Estate & Spa, this investment reflects our commitment to preserving the estate’s rich heritage while continuing to enhance the guest experience for the future.

“The upgrades to our guestrooms, private dining spaces and spa facilities have been carefully designed to combine contemporary luxury with the timeless character that makes the Culloden so distinctive.

“Following a strong year of growth, we are delighted to unveil these enhancements during our anniversary year and look forward to welcoming guests to experience this exciting new chapter in the Culloden story.

“With the vibrant summer season now underway, we are also thrilled to welcome back our much-loved Bollinger Champagne Garden, providing the perfect setting to raise a glass and toast this significant milestone.”
