HX Expeditions has confirmed it will make an extra 1,652 free cabin nights available to guest scientists next year as part of its long-term sustainability strategy.
In total, it will have 3,900 cabin nights available to scientists in 2027, an increase of 30%.
The cruise line said it has also cut its sulphur oxide emissions by 50% through initiatives such as ‘slow cruising’ itineraries, reduced its nitrogen oxide emissions by 14% and its carbon dioxide emissions by 12% over the past year.
Through a partnership with Ocean Bottle it has helped to remove 1,200 tonnes of plastic from waterways and the ocean, and it has distributed €226,370 to 28 global projects through the HX Foundation, alongside €215,195 in guest donations.
The details are included in its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance report, marking its long-term sustainability strategy with SMART targets through to 2030.
The report is the first informed by European Sustainability Reporting Standards.
