Club Med is to take its Exclusive Collection brand to Thailand for the first time after signing a Hotel Management Agreement with Central Group Capital to launch a new resort in Koh Samui in the second half of 2028.
The new opening represents the third Exclusive Collection resort in the Southeast Asia and Pacific region and the second Club Med property in Thailand, following Club Med Phuket, which first opened in 1985.
The property is situated on the northern coast of Koh Samui and will become a 303-room Exclusive Collection resort, with its own 200-metre-long private beach, offering guests a variety of water sports and beachfront activities.
The resort will undergo a full renovation, including upgraded guest rooms and public spaces, new dining concepts, and the introduction of signature Club Med experiences such as the Kids’ Club. The Resort’s design will draw inspiration from local Thai heritage and the island’s natural beauty.
The new Koh Samui resort will join Club Med’s global network of more than 60 Premium and Exclusive Collection resorts across 25 countries. The Exclusive Collection offering now represents 13% of the brand’s global capacity, spanning resorts, villas, chalets and the iconic Club Med 2 sailing yacht.
Club Med President and CEO Stéphane Maquaire said: “With the acceleration we have been making, from the soon-to-be opened Club Med Borneo in Malaysia and Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari, this new chapter will continue to strengthen Club Med’s leadership in premium, all-inclusive experiential holidays in destinations such Koh Samui.
“Beyond the guest experience, we remain steadfast in our commitment to creating a lasting, positive impact for the regions we call home by empowering local workforces with varied career paths and sustainable destination development. This holistic approach ensures our presence contributes to the long-term environmental and economic vitality of our community partners and host destinations.”
