Azamara expands pre- and post-cruise programme

Azamara Cruises is expanding its pre- and post-cruise land programme, Azamara Ashore, with the addition of 17 new itineraries between now and 2028.

Six are brand new for this year and the expansion brings Azamara’s total number of destination immersions to 84 across Africa, Oceania, Asia, Europe and the Americas.

The Azamara Ashore programme includes pre- and post-cruise hotel stays with optional transfers; two-night, cultural city stays in embarkation and disembarkation ports, and extended AzAmazing Journeys of three to six nights for ‘deeper exploration in bucket-list destinations through local cuisine, cultural connection, and immersive experiences ashore’.

Highlights of new AzAmazing Journeys include travelling through Zimbabwe to Botswana to see the Victoria Falls (pictured) and experiencing a safari game drive through Chobe National Park; visiting Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley of the Peruvian Andes, including riding the Hiram Bingham train; and visiting Cappadocia and Istanbul.

CEO Dondra Ritzenthaler said: “At Azamara, every journey is designed to be more than a passing visit, it’s an opportunity to truly connect with the places visited and the people who call them home.”

She said guests have been asking for ‘deeper, more immersive experiences that allow them to spend more time in each destination and engage with it in a more natural, unhurried way’ and Azamara has responded with the new options.

Also new for 2026, Azamara has partnered with a luggage shipping service to allow passengers to send their bags directly from their home to their cabin or hotel.
