Aqua Expeditions unveils new Mekong River cruises

Aqua Expeditions has expanded its Mekong River cruises on Aqua Mekong, which will focus on the lesser-explored stretches of the river.

This July and August 2026, the luxury expedition line will offer four and seven-night ‘Kratie’ cruises on Upper Mekong on the 20-cabin ship, which includes the Kampi River, home to the endangered Irrawaddy dolphin, and Koh Trong Island, with its traditional stilt houses.

The cruise includes visits to the 12th-century temple Nokor Bachey, guided cycling, and hikes.

In 2027-28 the ship will offer three, four and seven-night ‘Phat Sandai’ itineraries from December to February, with visits to the Phat Sandai floating village.

Guests will have the opportunity to explore the waterways by kayak, visit a community-led fishery conservation initiative, and hike Phnom Neang Kangrey mountain.

Aqua Expeditions has also partnered with The Explorers Club for a one-off cruise to the Mekong Delta in April 2027, from Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh. Researcher and conservationist Andrés Ruzo will lead the sailing with insights into geoscience, culture and conservation.

The line is offering guests up to 30% off select departures on Aqua Mekong for bookings made before 31 March.

For solo travellers, the line is waiving its single supplements on select sailings in April, August, and September, if booked before the end of March.
